It ends with Us author Colin Hoover has offered words of support to Blake Livelywho starred in the film adaptation of her book.
The writer took to social media to share glowing praise for the actress, 37, via an Instagram Story posted on Saturday, December 21.
“Blake Lively you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” Hoover, 45, wrote. “Thank you for being exactly the person you are. Never change. They never wither.”
A photo of Lively and Hoover hugging accompanied the caption.
The shocking Instagram post came after news broke that Lively had filed a lawsuit against her It ends with Usdirector and star, Justin Baldoni40. A link to an article about the lawsuit is attached to Hoover’s Instagram post.
The lawsuit, which was filed on Friday, Dec. 20, and obtained by Us Weekly after it was reported by TMZ and The New York TimesLively accused Baldoni of launching a “social manipulation” campaign against her to “ruin” her reputation.
Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni on Friday, alleging an encounter that took place during his production It ends with Us in January 2024 to address Lively’s claims against her partner.
According to the lawsuit, Lively’s demands included “no more showing nude videos or images of women to Blake, no mention of Baldoni’s alleged past ‘porn addiction,’ no more discussions of sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further reference to the cast and crew’s genitalia, no further inquiries into Blake’s weight, and no further reference to Blake’s dead father.”
Baldoni’s lawyer Brian Friedman addressed Lively’s “completely false, outrageous and deliberately vicious” claims in a statement to Us. He argued that Lively filed the lawsuit to “correct her negative reputation” and “reframe a narrative” about the film’s production.
He also alleged that the actress made “multiple demands and threats” during filming, including “threatening to not show up on set, threatening not to promote the film, ultimately leading to her demise during release if she didn’t satisfy her demands”.
In a statement to The New York Times in December, Lively said, “I hope my legal action will help pull back the curtain on these awful retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak out about misconduct and help protect others who may be targeted.”
The actress denied spreading negative information about Baldoni.
Rumors were rife earlier this year that there was bad blood between Lively and Baldoni when they didn’t press for the film together while on the promotional trail ahead of its August release.
